#OrlandoStrong

On the night of June 12, 2016, Orlando was changed forever. A man walked into Pulse Nightclub with a handgun and a semi-automatic rifle and began firing. 49 people lost their lives, and another 53 were injured. Members of the LGBTQ+ Community and the greater Orlando Community were looking for signs of hope and an opportunity to begin the healing process.

For many in Orlando, The Wheel, at ICON Park, formerly known as the Coca-Cola Orlando Eye, was that symbol of strength. Immediately following the Pulse Nightclub Shooting, The Wheel changed its colors to rainbow. Both visitors and residents were able to witness Orlando’s strength and resolve from all over the City. It was as if The Wheel spoke to us. “Together, we’ll get through this”, it said.

And as the years pass, Orlando commemorates each anniversary. The Wheel, at ICON Park, is here for you. The Wheel changes colors and reminds us to stay united, remain strong, and support our Orlando family. Everyone on the ICON Park team loves you. #OrlandoStrong  #OrlandoUnited #WeWillNotLetHateWin
