ICON Park hosts Apopka Police Department’s annual Shop With a Cop program

Shop with a Cop Program

More than a dozen local children will enjoy a fun day with officers

ORLANDO, Fla. (Dec. 13, 2022) – The holiday season is here, but there are local children in need who need some extra magic this year. ICON Park is proud to partner with the Apopka Police Department to host its annual Shop With a Cop program for the third year.

The Shop With a Cop program was designed to build positive relationships between police officers and the children of the community, especially those who are in need. Each year, the participants are taken shopping by members of the Police Department, City Commission and the Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association. The children receive money to spend on special gifts.

Train Ride

Often these kids will want to buy presents for others, but the officers remind them they deserve a special treat as well.

On Saturday, Dec. 17, the officers and more than a dozen children will be visiting ICON Park for a festive day. They’ll enjoy a complimentary lunch from Brother Jimmy’s, the entertainment destination’s latest restaurant. The officers and kids will also get a beautiful, 400-foot view of Orlando as they ride The Wheel, ICON Park’s signature attraction.

ICON Park is at the center of the new Orlando Entertainment District. With free parking and conveniently located near I-4, Universal Boulevard and the Beachline, this premiere entertainment complex is easy to access for any Central Florida resident or Orlando tourist.
