Captain Ken Chapman to ride The Wheel for 10 hours to raise funds for those in need
ORLANDO, Fla. (Dec. 7, 2021) – As we enter the season of giving, ICON Park is proud to once again host the Salvation Army’s 4th annual Donation Rotation.
From noon to 10 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 10, Salvation Army Captain Ken Chapman will raise awareness and donations for the organization by continuously riding The Wheel for 10 hours, ICON Park’s signature attraction. The Wheel, which stands at 400 feet, will be lit in Salvation Army’s colors of red and white for select periods throughout the event.
The Donation Rotation event will support the Red Kettle Campaign, which funds programs for struggling families, homeless children and vulnerable senior citizens.
ICON Park, a partner, sponsor and supporter of this event, will donate a dollar for every ticket that it sells on Dec. 10 to the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Program. For guests who choose to make the 20-minute ride with Captain Chapman, ICON Park will donate their admission fee for The Wheel to the Red Kettle Program.
New to the Donation Rotation event this year, Captain Chapman will have several Social Media influencers riding with him from 5:00pm – 7:00pm as they “TikTok Around the Clock.” Guests that ride with the Captain will have the opportunity to participate in fun, exciting Instagram and TikTok videos, which will reach the influencers’ combined audience of more than 30 million people.
“The Salvation Army team does very important work all year long to support our community,” said Chris Jaskiewicz, ICON Park president and CEO. “Since this event began four years ago, it has raised more than $150,000 to help those who need it the most. We’re proud to continue this tradition and will be cheering the Captain on during his ride.”

The Red Kettle Season ends on Christmas Eve, so please help spread the word about this event. Proceeds from the kettles go to fund programs and services for struggling families, individuals and veterans in Orange and Osceola Counties.
