When Christmas comes to town, it brings with it a long list of exciting holiday traditions that gets everyone in the spirit of the season. And while it’s fun to trim the tree, light the lights, and gift shop ’til you drop, there’s one time-honored tradition that beats them all – SWEETS!
Here at ICON Park, there’s certainly no shortage of sugary delights this yuletide. In fact, we like to think we’re home to some of the tastiest treats on International Drive. So, without further ado, here’s our count down of the top 5 seasonal treats here at Orlando’s Home for the Holidays.
1. Holiday Cupcakes at Jillycakes
Let’s be honest, there’s never a bad time of year to sink your teeth into a cupcake, cookie, or piece of pie from the award-winning Jillycakes. But this holiday season, the Cupcake Wars champions have added a little holiday cheer to their lip-licking chocolate, vanilla, and red velvet cupcakes by adding some fun holiday icing designs. Drop by the Wheelhouse Market and indulge in one or five of these festive confections.
World-famous brasserie Sugar Factory is known for crafting ridiculously delectable desserts. But some of these taste bud-tingling treats seem just a little sweeter when the holidays roll around. The seasonally colored Sour Apple Lolly Martini liquefies the sugary flavor of a sour apple sucker and tops it off with some Bubble Gum Pop Rocks for an added kick. This candy cocktail is a must for all the Naughty Listers out there. A non-alcoholic version is available for all the good little girls and boys.
One great part about Christmas in Central Florida is that it’s never too cold to enjoy a frozen dessert. If you like your sweets on the polar side, Shake Shack’s Chocolate Peppermint Milkshake will fulfill all your Candyland fantasies. While this shake gets our vote for seasonal best, this burger joint’s Coconut Snowball and Christmas Cookie concoctions are close runners-up.
There’s no holiday treat quite so classic as a cup of hot chocolate. We at ICON Park will stake the sweet, creamy cocoa at iCafe de Paris against any other cup in town. The baristas here have truly conjured the warm, fuzzy nostalgia of Christmases past into one piping hot beverage. No doubt about it, this one’s an ICON Park family favorite.
Ever wonder what Santa Claus’ favorite summertime treat is? Well, we’ve got it from the big guy himself that it’s Ben & Jerry’s Milk and Cookie ice cream. Since Orlando weather is always conducive to the treat we all scream for, this flavor is certainly one of our not-so-guilty pleasures.
These top 5 seasonal treats are waiting to sate your seasonal sweet tooth right now at ICON Park, Orlando’s Home for the Holidays.
