About The Wheel (formerly the Orlando Eye)

A Portal to Wonderland

The iconic 400-foot tall observation wheel, at the heart of the ICON Park, provides breathtaking views of Central Florida in all directions, with sights of downtown Orlando’s skyline, nearby theme parks, lakes and lush landscape, and on a clear day, views of the Kennedy Space Center on Florida’s east coast.

One of the Tallest in the World

The Wheel is the tallest observation wheel on the United States East Coast at 400 FT and weighs in at 3 million pounds - that’s 300 school buses!

Because The Wheel is located in Florida, it was built extraordinarily strong. During a major storm, the wheel is locked down and can withstand a category 5 hurricane. That’s sustained wind speeds over 156mph!

Play. Party. Own the Sky.

Transform the everyday into the stellar when you book one of our 30 capsules for a romantic date night, a momentous celebration, or a tranquil joyride with the family. The Wheel has 64,000 color-changing LEDs to create different light shows and displays throughout the year. The Wheel is the brightest beacon in the Orlando sky, creating striking views that allow everyone to be a part of the experience.

What our guests say about The Wheel:

Wow! This experience is fantastic! We had hoped to visit this at night, but the electrical storms and winds changed our plans. We went on Monday during the early afternoon. Great view! Worth the money. Tip: if you are staying at a local hotel, ask the concierge for discount tickets. Also, Tip: local residents already get a discount. Plan ahead!I'm horribly afraid of heights and shed a few tears. However, I appreciated the view, the smooth ride, my company in the capsule, and the air-conditioning!In addition, the ICON had a fantastic building for waiting out storms and just taking a break from the weather. Food, a bit of shopping, and tables are available. Besides, parking is free!Bring money for fun photos! We plan to return and visit at night!

Great experience, it is a nice hanger of pace if you are looking for a much more personal experience. You get your own capsule. It moves at a very non scary pace allowing plenty of time to take in the views and sights. I can only imagine this area growing down the line and getting more and more. You can take drinks into the ride and for a nice evening you can really enjoy yourselves. Friendly, fun, clean and entertaining idea.

Very nice and relaxing ride! I was so nervous at first because I am terrified of heights. I hate the traditional ferris wheels at carnivals and I thought this would be eerily similar. I was absolutely wrong. The capsules are air conditioned and filled with bumping tunes, which helps increase the excitement of the ride. In addition to these unique features, the view is phenomenal! I highly recommend this attraction. It is definitely an unforgettable experience!

Nice place to go and have fun while visiting thru International Drive, in Orlando. There's like a food court plus restaurants surrounding the Orlando I. At night especially it's very mesmerizing to just sit and stare, and just relax. When I went to the Icon, we were the last ones to ride it, it was 1145pm and the ride itself is like 25min long. We had so much fun! Definitely will bring parents next time!!

It was really good and cheap. It's location is very good and close to everywhere. We went to Universal studio after here it was close you can see all city it takes 23 min and price is reasonable. You can combine the wheel 🎡 with aquarium or the other opportunities.

You have to do this at least once. It is inexpensive and can be done fairly quickly. It is constantly moving but so slow you can't even tell. Nice view point from the top.

Coming here at night is really nice. It was not very busy when we came and we we're probably one family of a few that jumped on. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Parking was free and so we didn't feel like we were being extorted as tourists. The ride is about 20 minutes, so grab a sangria before jumping on.

It really is a cool way to 'see Orlando'. Staff is always friendly. The popcorn and drinks are good too 😂. Something special and different for vacationers and locals. And not expensive.

I'm not much for heights but this was fun and a none threatening way to see Orlando from the air. The cars are large and are climate controlled, great in Florida heat. Also, it moves very slow so its a nice gentle ride that takes about 25 minutes. We went at night and the city light was very pretty. They have tablets mounted in the cars that you can use to identify some of the sights you will see.

ICON Orlando offers a great view of the whole International drive area of Orlando day or night. I visited the ICON Orlando at night time and it was great. There wasn't a lot of people and I wish I had the opportunity not to be put in the same car as strangers. If it was busy, I could understand however, they had plenty of empty cars. Either way it was still a good experience.

This was a lot of fun. The views around sunset time are amazing. You can also book online like we did. It reminds me of the London Eye a lot. The front desk has a lot of interesting facts. They informed us, this one is larger than the one in London. Amazing

I didn't expect to like it since I was born in pre-Disney Orlando. I was pleasantly surprised by the view since I could see more trees than development! It gave me a new perspective. November is definitely the time to go. The area is nice and clean, no huge crowds or really heavy traffic. 5⭐

I went to the aquarium and the wax museum, will definitely be hitting up the actual Eye next time I'm in the area. It was so much fun!! So much to do and look at, so many restaurants and hotels in the area. Loved every second of it.

Great view of the fireworks at Disney. This is a very comfortable ride. Great way to see the area. Especially at night. And the lights on the wheel are impressive.

I can only speak about The Orlando Eye and its a spectacular experience for all ages. The service is quick and nice, bar is nice, not bad prices. The capsule is very slow for you to enjoy and not be afraid, clean, spacious, lighting is beautiful, and it has informational tablets about different Florida places. I have been here twice one at night and one during the day and I recommend them both. The view was very clear during the day but the lights were awesome during night. A must go.

Great Experience! They were busy on Christmas day. The wait was a bit an hour but well worth it. The nice thing they allow our party to ride in our own car so not share with strangers. That was a awesome. We Roddy at night time. There are other attractions in the plaza that can be experience and a multi experience ticket can be purchased at a discount. Formally know as the Olrando Eye.

A fun attraction for the family. It was a little more busy because of the holiday but definitely worth it. Several venues to choose from at the Icon area. Great views from the Icon. Orlando is very colorful at night in the tourist areas and Disney. Great place and affordable for families.

The experience or being in the giant wheel is so great and relaxing. I just felt free, the sensation of freedom was just wonderful. There are a lot of things to do like the museum and the aquarium, simulators and for sure, the giant wheel! The view up above is just magical . For those who's aid of heights just be cool, the wheel is slow enough to you too not feel anything and you can just sit on the floor of the cabinet. I recommend all too ride this, because the experience is unique! Three cabinet is equipped with a digital map so you can have information of what are you Spotting at.

There were a lot of cool looking places here I only went to the aquarium but everything else looked like fun as well. It is a great place to take your kid(s) and also some good places to grab drinks or hangout with friends. I recommend visiting here at least once!

Outstanding experience! Riding provides great views of the Orlando area. The cabins move slowly, so those affected by motion sickness won't have a problem. The cabins were very clean, well ventilated and air-conditioned. There was no wait for this attraction. There are other sites to see in the main building. Restrooms were clean and well maintained.

We love the train ride for the kids the cost is 5 per kid and 3 per adult. The mini arcade here is great for these rainy days in Florida and fair on price my kids really enjoy it. And of course the wheel you get it to view Orlando price is 25 per person but it is a beautiful view. Its also a great place to go eat and relax in fake grass area after a long day and breathe in the fresh air.

It is an amazing place, with a diversity of places and attractions. You must try the dragon balls. It is very cozy, familiar and comfortable. The aquarium is beautiful. The wheel is super big. It is the perfect place to spend as a family and the best of all the parking is free and you do not pay to enter, only for what you use.

GREAT place. Lots to do and see. Highly recommended for families. Ripley's believe it or not very close by as well as wonder works. Many eateries as well as night spots. Affordable hotels all around. Short drive to universal studios park. Give it a try.

The Ferris wheel is really cool and it takes you up really really high. I went when it was supposed by Coco Cola, but I don’t think that really makes a difference. It’s one of those things that you should do in Orlando if you’re not going to Disney or universal as it provides a fun opportunity to go to a ride that’s not in a theme park. I recommend this and it gives you a great view of Orlando

Love this place. Is a really nice place to go with your family or your significant other because there is a lot of restaurants an cool places that kids will love. If you visit here, you can not miss the aquarium. Is a really fun experience for kids and adults

Great place to visit lots to do within the building. Aquarium, places to eat and shop! The Icon 360 takes 23 minutes to go all the way around. It’s an amazing way to see the area from above. It’s grass all the way around so if you have a fear of heights I would NOT recommend this. It has a little area to sit with a pol in the middle but most of the glass case is floor to stand. Great way to get pictures of the city! My two year old loved it! Fine for little kids.

I loved it. It's super cool being up so high to see everything around Orlando. If you're looking for an adrenaline rush, this isn't the right ride for you. It's a nice, peaceful, relaxing kind of thing. You should do it at least once

Lots of things to do! A totally different experience on the eye of Orlando! Prices were unbelievable cheap! For almost $55 bucks you get to enjoy the aquarium, wax museum and the ride on the eye of Orlando. I recommend if you don’t have any big plans, which my friend and I did and we have a great time.

Took a ride on the Wheel at Icon Park and had excellent views on the 30-minute Ferris wheel ride. It is best to go on a clear day or partly cloudy day. I recommend for tourists and locals to do at least once! Icon Park is a great locations with tons of things to do. There are a wide variety of shops, restaurants, and fun activities to do within a walking distance.

A wonderful go to date place for locals and tourist alike. So many options around the eye of orlando as well. A breathe taking view that you can actually experience with a great ride experience. If I could give this wonderful tourist attraction more stars I would. The complimentary valet is also a wonderful touch and also a great and welcoming addition to the wheel.

Definitely a fun experience! We live in Florida but went as a Tourist one evening! Make sure to use your Florida Resident Discount makes it way more affordable! Our son is special needs and they accommodated his every need and made us feel so very welcome! He loved it!! So did we!

You would think “I’ve been in one eye I’ve been on them all right? Wrong! The Orlando eye is definitely a spot to check out when you are in the downtown Orlando area. Day or night the view is stunning. I’m personally scared of heights and the wheel is pretty smooth so you don’t get as intimidated by the height. The pricing isn’t bad either. Close to the eye you will find plenty of restaurants and other fun things to do with your family. Lastly there’s a cvs near by which is always great for those just visiting!

Definitely 5 Stars... My girlfriend and I timed it just right and got to watch the sunset from the very top... What a beautiful view inside the air conditioned cab and out!!! We will definitely go again. Also save your tickets for the next time you go and it's only half price and good for all year.

Great place to come and see. Line wasn't unreasonably long, and the view is great. The Wheel moves very slowly, giving you plenty of time to take it all in. Arriving just before sundown makes the view all the more enjoyable. The gift shop here is cute. Buy a mug or something.

It was a really nice ride! The pods are air conditioned with music playing inside. You are allowed to have drinks and snacks inside. I was nervous at first because I am terrified of heights but it moves slowly and by the time we made it to the top I was fine and enjoying the views.

This place is awesome. At first we thought it was expensive just to go on a big Ferris wheel, but it’s definitely worth it. You get a great view from up top. The whole ride takes about 20 minutes. The capsules are air conditioned and windows tinted to help you see. Highly recommend!!After this you should go to the aquarium next door or Sugar Factory!!

Perfect for the 4 year old 😁 It has plenty of interactive displays to keep the little ones occupied. Love stamping the little book in each area and all of the porthole windows and tunnels to crawl through. The jellyfish display is awesome!

This was a spectacular ride to see far around Orlando. The wheel continues to move while letting people on & off, so you are constantly moving. It’s nice & smooth. The cabin is very clean & air conditioned. What a relief! A photographer takes at least three pictures of your group prior to climbing aboard, so you may purchase them after your ride, if you’d like. I would suggest riding the wheel when you first arrive in Orlando. You could see exactly where you’d like to venture.

Paid $80 for 5 of us to get a private capsule. It was a good time. So much to see . Also they offer beer and mimosas in line for a charge but it was worth our money. And they also take pics of you before you get on that are available for purchase. I highly recommend making a stop during your Orlando vacation!!

Love it!!! I love how high it goes, (400 ft) and I've been their with some friends and they said it was very thrilling. There posts might be on here too but I'm not for sure. You can get to go on the wheel +2 more attractions for about 90$. Like I said before, love it!

The scenery was amazing as you climbed higher it got better. The staff where very professional and polite. My youngest daughter was terrified to ride this, so we gentle coaxed her. Now, she talks about nothing else. I am sure she is going to remember this milestone for ever. Try the popcorn on sale here. You wont be dissatisfied.

Our experience was good. The view is great. The gondolas are air-conditioned, which was nice considering the Florida heat. The gondolas are clean. The staff are polite and helpful. Overall had a great experience. The ride takes about 25 minutes. Don't forget to bring a camera. Would definitely recommend.

We enjoyed our visit, complete with free parking with the multi-level Garage in the same complex. Lots of Little Stores and restaurants along with the larger attractions. They did seem to have several locations closed, including one that was being renovated. The closures may have been because our visit was on a Monday. I would give this location 5 Stars if it had more shady areas. Waiting for attractions and the rest of our party had us scrambling for the very few shady areas for protection from the Sun. Come on folks this is Florida! It's always sunny here! On the plus side the entire area was very clean and neat.

A little pricey by itself but we got a deal for all 3 attractions that made it worth it. There's a bar right before you board so we had drinks while enjoying the scenery. The ride is just long enough to be entertaining without being boring. We had a lot of fun.
Mandy Bartlett
14:53 22 Jul 18
We visited the ICON right at sunset and couldn't have asked for a better view. We boarded right as the sun was setting, and by the time we got to the top, we had the last few moments of color from the sunset overlooking the whole city. The views are spectacular; and each party gets to ride in a car by yourselves. The units are air-conditioned, and there are screens on both the north and south ends of the car giving you information on what you're looking at. The whole ride takes about 20-22 minutes. The only downsides to this experience is the price is a bit steep; but it's in a heavy tourist area and was to be expected. You also cannot bring any food and drink into the car that isn't purchased through ICON. However, they do have a small bar with beer, wine and soda right before entering the car. Overall, it was a very cool experience!

This attraction was available with the Orlando city pass; which is something I advise you get for at least a day. Line moved quick, attendants were friendly... one of them took a great family picture with wheel in background. The views are great (for Orlando); I suggest going right around dusk where you can see all the lights but still have enough light to get good pictures with your phone... both inside the ferris wheel carriage and outside. Would have given 5 stars if the carriage windows allowed for better pictures. The tinting made it harder to take good nighttime photos.

Awesome experience! 22 minutes for a full rotation. You can see so far when your up there. We paired it with the wax museum which was cool too. I'm glad parking was free since the parks charge so much.

It took us three years of living in Orlando to finally ride the ICON (Orlando Eye), not sure why we waited so long, timing just never worked out. We took our flight a little before noon and could see for miles. I bet night time would be even more impressive. There is a discount for riding before 4pm. We took our 3 year old son and he loved it. The cabins are spacious, have a small seat in the middle, and plenty of room for standing around the perimeter. There was pop music playing in our cabin, not the tour-guide I heard in some of the videos I watched. I am not sure if you can change this with the on-board computer, we didn't mess with it. They had an option for a group cabin with drinks included which I thought would be cool if we have a group of friends come visit in the future. Parking is FREE at the adjacent parking garage and there are an abundance of things to see and do within walking distance.

So this place HS a ton of activities for all ages! It’s like a hot spot because it literally has food drinks of all kinds, and several attractions that are run by different companies ! Most definitely great for all ages from toddlers to grown ups! They’re is even a artificial grass area to picnic if you bring your own lunch like we did! It’s awesome all the other parents also just lounge in the grass area! Nice fountain sets the mood too! Get a feel for the people and you don’t have to go spend anything if you don’t want to.

We really liked it. Seeing out over the city gives one a good sense of where everything is. The wax museum was a hoot. Getting your picture taken with "famous" people was fun. Sealife is great for kids.

We really enjoyed this attraction, especially since it was one that could be shared with my elderly parents. At $30+, it is rather expensive for a 25 minute experience, but if you add $10 more and go to the watch museum after the ride, it seems like a much better value. The views from the top are fantastic. we were very fortunate to have the entire cabin for just the four of us. They claim they can put 18 people in the cabin which seems like it would be a bit too crammed. The four stars is just a reflection of the price.

It was an easy ride. You don't feel like you're riding how because of how smooth and slow it is. If you are going on the Icon for a view of landmarks you have tho go during the day because at night you will see the skyline and lights.....That's nice too though but for 28.00 you wanna see what you want

We just visited the icon and it was so cool. It happened to be a slower afternoon so we got our own pod which was great. The employees were super nice and took good care of us. The weather was beautiful and allowed you to see so much!

Very good views at a reasonable pace are given here with a fantastic overall look at Orlando. Could be a romantic spot or a quick grab for a drink at the bar right before you get on. A decent, but somewhat underwhelming selection of alcoholic beverages is available with an option for "unlimited" drinks. Pricing scheme may not be justified for the time even for large groups, but good for a quick look of the city or chat.

I've been wanting to go on the Eye for a while now. I knew there was one in Vegas, but recently found out there was one right here in Florida! Of course I would probably rather go ride the one in Vegas, thinking there might be more to see, but still cool. Maybe it would have made it better to go when Disney sets off fireworks!

Fun attraction in central Orlando.ICON Park is a fun attraction. After the wheel, I recommend the wax museum or the aquarium. The wheel itself is perfect for people who don't like scary rides. The wheel moves slowly, is fully enclosed and even has air conditioning. This is a ride you could take your grandmother on. But that doesn't mean it's boring. At the top, be prepared for incredible views of Central Florida. On a clear day, you can probably see 75 miles out all around. This ride is fun, safe and suitable for anyone--even toddlers and seniors. Spend some time in the park afterwards. There are lots of dining and snack options.

The only thing we did not like was the family restroom for people with Disability does not lock. Luckily for me my husband was there to assist me and able to hold the door. but we did inform the facility so hopefully it gets fix But besides that it was nice I love the wax museum it was nice

The Wheel is something to try once, but I would not do it again, as a local. I was not able to see a lot of things or make out exactly what was what. We were all just guessing. We had the VIP option which is good especially during the Florida summers! The area is a really nice place to hang out. The food court is nice to have a bite to eat in the air conditioning.
