A Word From the Wheel at ICON Park

His name is legendary. His face is unmistakable. He is the “hub” of the Orlando Experience. The City Beautiful’s number one “spokes” person. The shining star of the Central Florida Skyline! He’s… me, The Wheel at ICON Park.

Now, I know what you’re thinking…. How did I get to be so handsome?  It’s all in the proportions. And I am, after all, a perfect circle. At least, that’s what my mom always told me.

Anyways, as ICON Park’s CCO (Chief Circumference Officer), I wanted to be the first member of our iconic family to welcome you to 2020. As you might know, we have a lot of exciting new attractions and experiences heading to Orlando’s Hometown Playground this year. You might even be aware that a certain wheel is turning a whopping five years old (FYI, I wear a 48000 Regular and look great in sequins).

If you’re wondering how a five-year-old is already the star of a major attraction, I make up for my age in feet. Four hundred of them, straight up. And while the casual onlooker might say I look a little “slow,” trust me, my wheels are always spinning (pun intended).

Like I was saying, there’s a lot to look forward to at ICON Park in 2020, from Blake Shelton’s Ole Red to a couple of towering new thrill rides. But I wanted to take this opportunity to remind you that ICON Park is already home to one of the most exciting attractions in Orlando. An entertainment GIANT, if you will…

You guessed it. It’s me. And if you haven’t already, or even If you have, 2020 is your year to ride me! Over and over and over and… Sorry, I got a little carried away there.

Whether you’re a local or visiting from out of town, you truly haven’t seen Orlando if you haven’t seen it from 400 feet up, inside one of my cozy capsules. Along the way, you’ll hear some of my favorite hometown stories as well as some pretty amazing facts about yours truly.

And just think, afterwards, you’ll be able to all your friends you conquered the tallest observation wheel on the east coast. That’s kind of a weird flex, but I know I’d be impressed.

I’m also just… super fun. I mean, some of my capsules even have bars in them. You’re more than welcome to take a spin and pop a bottle on the Sky Bar, but please keep it clean in there. ‘Nuff said.

Well, I was told not to go over 500 words, so I guess I’d better sign off for now. I hope I get to open my doors to all of you in the New Year! Thanks for reading. And who knows, if this goes well, I may keep blogging every now and then. Thanks for reading and be sure to drop by for a flight sometime here at
