Do you feel it…? That winter chill in the air…? No? Well, it is Florida after all. While Orlando may not be what most consider a winter wonderland, the City Beautiful is without a doubt one of the most festive cities in the world when the holiday season rolls around. Of course, we celebrate the holidays at ICON Park a little differently from our big-name neighbors.
Here, you won’t find overpriced sugary treats or overproduced Christmas spectacles. We know that the true reason for the season is not what you do, but who you do it with. ICON Park offers a bundle of laidback, festive fun. So, if you’re longing for that same simple enchantment from your childhood yuletides, look no further than Orlando’s Hometown Playground.
Silver and Gold
Here at ICON Park, we’ve already trimmed the tree and decked the halls in grand fashion. Right now through the New Year’s, we’re all lit up in twinkling lights, shimmering tinsel, and our jolliest holiday grins.
Even The Wheel is reeling in the spirit of the season! Through Christmas Eve, you can watch this 400-foot wonder illuminate the City Beautiful with yuletide cheer in a special holiday light show. Talk about merry and bright!
The Man With the Bag
You’d better watch out, because Santa Claus has landed at ICON Park this holiday season to hear all your Christmas wishes and pose for all the seasonal selfies you can take. He and his team of merry-makers have turned the Pearl Express Train Station into a veritable Toyland! So be good for goodness sake and stop by to see the jolly old elf himself on select days between now and Christmas Eve.
Spirit of the Sea
Did you ever wonder how clownfish, sharks, and other creatures of the deep celebrate the holidays? At SEA LIFE Aquarium, dive into an underwater wonderland for the limited time “Deck the Seas” celebration. Catch “Scuba” Claus as he spreads Christmas cheer to all the good little fishies in the sea. Later, gather around for the traditional telling of the undersea holiday classic, The Night Before Fishmus.
So, grad your snorkel, because Seven Seas of Christmas spirit are waiting for you at SEA LIFE Aquarium from December 6 – January 6!
The Best Way to Spread Christmas Cheer…
Think you know your holiday movies? Cinephiles can put their Christmas flick knowledge to the test at the Tin Roof on Tuesday, December 10 for Elf Trivia Night. Don’t be a cotton-headed ninny muggins! Wrangle up to six of your closest friends and brush up on the Will Ferrell Christmas classic to compete for up to $250 in prizes! Whether you’re spending this holiday season with family, old friends, or new, a winter wonderland of low-key festivity is waiting for you today at ICON Park, Orlando’s Home for the Holidays.
